Available online on the Carroll College website is the digital Rufus and Charles King Collection which consists of photographs, family correspondence, and diaries.
Rufus King (1815-1876), a graduate of West Point, worked for the Army Corps of Engineers and was a journalist, editor and part owner of the Milwaukee Sentinel newspaper. He was active in Wisconsin politics in state formation, in education and in the abolitionist movement. He served as a General for the Wisconsin Volunteers, also known as the Iron Brigade, during the Civil War.
Charles King (1844-1933), son of Rufus King, was also graduate of West Point. He served in the U.S. Army in the Indian Wars of the American West and as a General in the Philippines during the Philippine Insurrection. Later, he served in Wisconsin as the Adjutant General ended his military career as an instructor at St. John’s Military Academy in Delafield, Wisconsin.
Charles King died in Milwaukee in March of 1933 and is buried at Forest Home Cemetery. His son Rufus and grandson Charles both graduated from St. John’s Military Academy, and both had accomplished military careers.

While doing a search for online databases I came across a database of Carroll College Yearbooks available at the Carroll Library website.
http://content-dm.cc.edu/Yearbook/index_yearbook.php?CISOROOT=/yearbook
The Carroll College Yearbooks were published from 1910 to 2000.
Some years were not published or were combined with other years.
The collection currently contains the first decade of yearbooks with morebeing added throughout the 2007-2008 academic year.
The project should be completed by the summer of 2008.
The yearbooks are full text searchable with fully edited transcriptions. No changes to the original publication were made.
I have added a fair amount of marriages and biographies to the marriages.
Added death information for Annie Bashaw nee Hunziker to LaBelle Cemetery.
Thanks to a researcher, I added additional information to the Waterman entry in the North Prairie Cemetery.
We have a volunteer to type up the pages of the Shipmaster list.
Christine is no longer able to take photos for the Waukesha County cemeteries. We thank her for all her hard work these past years. Speedy recovery, Christine!
I finished updating St. Mary’s in Menomonee Falls.
I updated St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery Menomonee Falls. There are new transcription entries as well as a link to the Linking Your Past Photo Gallery with photos of the tombstones. This is cem# 64.
