Union Lutheran Cemetery, Milwaukee

I went out to Union Lutheran Cemetery yesterday and transcribed a few of the tombstone as well as photographed them. I will be putting them online soon.

To the cemetery listing I also added the following obituaries:

I also added the death notices for John Liscowitz.  I do not know where John was buried but he committed Suicide in Union Lutheran Cemetery.  He shot himself on a bench near the near the grave of F. Mueller.  I don’t know if F. Mueller had any significance in John’s life.

No, Joan has not fallen off the face of the earth.  Her new job has taken a lot of her time.  Until she is able to get back to the files, I decided to put up a few tidbits from some of my newpaper resources.

I added a couple news tidbits from 1877 on the conviction of John Anderson who murdered Isaac Rosegard;

an 1890 article about M.C. Smith;

and 1891 articles on John Fiegel & Son Burglary and new creamery equipment in Strong’s Prairie.

My great grandmother, Lillian (Tuma) Radej was a saver. She saved photographs, news tidbits. Sometimes just brief notes in random places maybe as she was thinking of something. When my grandparents passed, I got custody of many of the piles of miscellaneous tidbits. At the time, I had no clue who many of the people were in the pictures or why Grandma Radej saved this obituary or that newspaper edition. Years later I have been through it all millions of times, and still don’t know the importance of some items. (more…)
