New Resource-Waukesha County Marriages
I have a new lookup resource available to me. At the conference I attended I purchased a book compiled by Judy Vezzeni and proofread by members of the Waukesha County Genealogical Society, published by the State Historical Society of Wisconsin. It is entitled Index to Waukesha County Marriages 1846-1907.
If you would like a lookup done, I ask that you first go to the Wisconsin Historical Society Website Vital Records Search database and lookup the name. You can look up either the groom’s name or bride’s. If you find it in the index, then email me. The book has a little bit more information than the online index in that it gives the parents’ names. You still will have to have someone lookup the actual record if you wish to have a copy.
The book only covers registered marriages in Waukesha County. If it is not in the database, the record will most likely not be in my book either. Although there are a few marriages (very few) marriages that were listed in the county records but do not appear in the state records.
